About the album.
It's A Beautiful Place is the seventh album from New York duo Water From Your Eyes, vocalist Rachel Brown and producer/multi-instrumentalist Nate Amos, and their second on Matador Records. Where their 2023 breakthrough Everyone's Crushed brought the band to widespread attention, this one was written knowing an audience was waiting: for the first time, Amos composed with a full live band in mind, shaping songs for stages rather than bedrooms. Recorded, as ever, in Amos's bedroom, the album is their most ambitious yet, ten tracks careening between math-metal riffs, Stereolab-adjacent pop, orchestral interludes, and six-minute techno workouts, held together by Brown's dry, deadpan delivery and Amos's restlessly inventive production. Thematically it orbits time, scale, and cosmic insignificance, the idea that music feels everything and means everything, while a mountain is more interesting than any album and a galaxy dwarfs any mountain. Released August 2025 on Matador Records.
