Sarah Aarons co-wrote 'Dracula', 'Oblivion' and 'Afterthought'. Promotional material tied the record to bush doof culture and the Western Australian rave scene, and its twelve tracks move between house, disco, psychedelic funk and acid house. Four singles came from the album: 'End Of Summer', 'Loser', 'Dracula' and 'My Old Ways'. 'End Of Summer' won Best Dance\/Electronic Recording at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards. Deadbeat debuted at number 2 on the ARIA Albums Chart, reached number 4 in the UK and on the Billboard 200, and was nominated for Australian Album of the Year at the 2025 J Awards. Matt Colton mastered and cut the album at Metropolis Mastering in London.
