bjork-homogenic-vinyl-lp
Bjork - Homogenic (Vinyl LP)

Homogenic is the third studio album by Björk, an electronic record released on 22 September 1997 by One Little Indian. She built it around a deliberately narrow palette after the stylistic sprawl of Debut and Post, pairing an Icelandic string octet with hard programmed beats and almost nothing else. Björk produced the album herself with Mark Bell of LFO, working with Howie B, Guy Sigsworth and Markus Dravs across the sessions, and arranged the strings to sit as an equal partner to the rhythm rather than as decoration. Ten tracks include Jóga, Bachelorette, Alarm Call and All Is Full Of Love. The record is widely regarded as her most influential, and its blend of orchestral writing and abrasive electronics shaped much of what followed in art pop. Björk followed it with Vespertine in 2001.
