Ben Tanner plays keyboards across most of the album and vibraphone on the title track, Paul Horton adds keyboards to Gemini, Rob Moose plays strings on five tracks and holds the arrangement credit on four of them with Brittany Howard sharing that credit on the title track, and Blake Mills contributes percussion, guitar and vibraphone. The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, the band's first chart topper, and reached the top ten in Australia, the Netherlands, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. It received six nominations at the 58th Grammy Awards and won four, for Best Alternative Music Album, Best Engineered Album Non-Classical, and Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song for Don't Wanna Fight.
