Sherwood said the title came from a lyric written by Mark Stewart, and that it stands for both losing Stewart and Keith LeBlanc and what is happening politically and environmentally. The cast draws on decades of On-U work: Doug Wimbish on bass across most of the record; Keith LeBlanc and Chris Joyce on drums; Gaudi and Jazzwad on synths; Horseman on percussion; Alex White on saxophone and flute; Mark Bandola on guitar and Roland Juno 60. Brian Eno plays guitars and adds vocals and effects on \"The Well Is Poisoned (Dub)\".
